Benjamin Orzechowski, American son of a Russian father and Czechoslovakian mother was born in Cleveland (Ohio, USA) on September 8, 1947 . Permanently left high school, of often used to leave when I his band called "The Grasshoppers" Orzechowsky met another young musician named Ric Ocasek. In 1976 both founded the band The Cars, after which he decided to move to Chicago. At that time decided to shorten his surname to make it alone in Orr. His music was derived from the scene of those years and then moved to New Wave. While Ocasek was the lead singer and face visible, Benjamin Orr was the group's presence on stage. During his tenure with The Cars lent his voice to the band's greatest hits like the ballad "Drive" His last appearance took place on September 27, 2000, in a Big People concert in Alaska. Six days later, on October 3, 2000 Benjamin Orr died in Atlanta (Georgia)
